A few things to know.
What exactly am I buying?
The Kudos source code, setup and user guides, a Chrome extension, automated tests and a commercial source license. You deploy it into your own Convex and hosting accounts and run your own installation. It's a codebase, so some technical setup is required. The included guides and AGENT_SETUP.md are written so a coding agent like Claude Code or Codex can walk you through it.
How is this different from Senja or Testimonial.to?
Those are monthly subscriptions priced by projects, seats or testimonials. Kudos is a one-time purchase you host yourself, with no limits on projects, seats, forms or testimonials. You also get the source, so you can change anything. It's an independent product with no affiliation, and it isn't a feature-for-feature copy of any service.
Can I use it for my clients and charge them?
Yes. Run one project per client, invite them as reviewers, put their Wall of Love on their own domain, and include it in your retainer or charge for it as a hosted service. Keep the source private: you can't resell or redistribute the code itself. Read the license for the full terms.
What costs are separate?
Your hosting and Convex usage, plus any optional providers you turn on: Resend for email, OpenRouter for AI, and Google for Business Profile import or the live Google widget. Kudos has no license fee per project, seat or month. Providers still have their own limits and pricing.
Do I need the AI features?
No. Everything works without AI. Add your own OpenRouter key to get video transcripts and captions, highlight quotes, themes, translation into 20 languages, case studies and the Insights report. Highlights are always copied word for word from what the customer said, and AI writing is labeled for you to review.
How do Google reviews work?
Two ways. Connect your Google Business Profile to import all of your own reviews and sync new ones daily (Google approves Business Profile API access per project, usually within a few days). Or add a live Google reviews widget with a Places API key, which shows your rating and up to five reviews without storing them, as Google's terms require.
Can it import from G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, X and LinkedIn?
X posts come in from a link. Pages that publish review data come in automatically. Many review sites block automated reading, so for those, upload a screenshot: Kudos keeps it with the testimonial, and with AI on it reads the words for you. You always check an import before it's saved.
Will Google show stars for my testimonials?
Walls of Love can include review markup for a product, software app or course. Google doesn't show stars for a business reviewing itself, so Kudos doesn't use that markup, and Google decides whether stars appear for any page.
How does video work?
Customers record in the browser or upload a file. You can trim it, add captions from the AI transcript, put it in any widget, and cut several into a branded reel in the Video studio. Reels render in your browser, so there's no video server to run.
Is this included in All Access?
Yes. Eligible All Access members get Kudos in their DevLaunch download library. All Access has its own access period and terms. Check your library before buying it separately.
Are installation, support and future updates included?
Kudos is self-supported source code with setup, user and troubleshooting guides. Setup services, custom development, ongoing support and guaranteed future updates aren't included unless agreed separately in writing.
