Meet Liftoff, a Mac launcher you own.
Liftoff puts your apps, files, clipboard history, snippets, window layouts, meetings, browser tabs and Claude behind one shortcut. It's native Swift, runs on your Mac, and is included with All Access.
Most of a workday is small jumps: open an app, find a file, paste the thing you copied an hour ago, join the next call. Liftoff makes each of those a few keystrokes from ⌘Space. You build it on your own Mac from the source, so there's no subscription and nothing to sign in to. The screenshots below are the real app with Liftoff's built-in fictional sample data.
- Open apps, files and commands, and get instant answers for math, time zones, units and currency.
- Paste anything you copied today, insert snippets, and move windows with one key.
- Join meetings, switch browser tabs, run your own scripts and ask Claude without leaving the keyboard.
Find what you copied, then paste it where you are.
Clipboard history keeps the text, links, images and files you copy. Press ⌥⇧V, type a few letters, and ↵ pastes it into the app you were using. Pin the things you paste every week so they stay at the top.
Passwords copied from 1Password, Bitwarden and other apps that mark copies as private are never saved, and everything stays on your Mac.
Never hunt for a meeting link again.
Type “schedule” to see the next week from the calendars on your Mac, including Google and Exchange accounts. Meetings with a Zoom, Meet or Teams link join with ↵.
From ten minutes before a call, a Join row waits at the top of the launcher and in the menu bar. You can also show the next meeting beside the menu bar icon, like “Standup in 12m”.
Run your own scripts from the launcher.
Script commands turn any shell, Python or Node script into a launcher command. Liftoff reads Raycast's script command format, so scripts you already have work as they are.
Type a script's title and its arguments, like “weather paris”. Full output fills the launcher, quick scripts show a small notice, and inline scripts keep their latest result under your commands.
Keep a note on top while you work.
Floating notes keep a small notepad above every app and every Space, for the call notes or checklist you need while working. Open it with a hotkey, keep several notes, and find them again from the launcher.
Pick a color and copy it in any format.
The color picker grabs a color from anywhere on screen and copies it as HEX, RGB, HSL, SwiftUI or NSColor. Type a color like #a855f7 to see every format at once.
Claude on any text.
Select text anywhere and press ⌥⇧C to have Claude clean it up in place, or ⌥⇧Space to tidy rough notes and research them on the web. Add your own actions with your own instructions and shortcuts.
Press Tab in the launcher to ask Claude anything and keep the conversation going. The AI features use your own Anthropic API key, and Liftoff only sends the text each feature needs.
And the small jobs in between.
Liftoff also searches the menus of the app you're in, shows what's running on a port and stops it, switches to any open browser tab, finds bookmarks, and defines, spell-checks or translates a word.
What to know before installing.
Liftoff needs macOS 15 or later and Apple's free developer tools to build it. You turn on Accessibility for it once, and free up ⌘Space from Spotlight or choose another shortcut.
The download is licensed for your own Macs and your team's, not for sharing or resale. Ask AI and the AI actions need an Anthropic API key, and GIFs need a free GIPHY key.
Try it in your own workspace.
- Download the Liftoff 1.0.0 ZIP from your portal and unzip it.
- Open Terminal in the liftoff folder and run ./scripts/bundle.sh --install.
- Turn on Liftoff under Accessibility in System Settings, then press ⌘Space.
- Copy a few things and press ⌥⇧V, then type “schedule” to see your week.
- Add your Anthropic key in Settings and press Tab to ask your first question.
